To the developers

Firs iŽd like to say congrats on the game
Better late than never Wink
Too bad i hadnŽt heard of this game before. Get some marketing guys, i dont have to cost a fortune as long as youre visible

Got the game on sale, on impulse, and have been playing a lot, about 12-13 hours.
Its really quite fun and addictive, and the storyline and music are surprisingly good.
My only complaints, seem to be the same as some other posters on the forum, namely that the game is a bit too hard later on, your wingmen getting annihilated, even if youve spent the last 5 mins pummeling the ships blindspots, and so dont excactly leave you with much room to improve.
I also thought that the smaller Cyverine ships were overpowered, often withstanding massive pummeling, while stile being extremely fast, and with hefty firepower. The AI ships never really more than scratched these starships, and i always took an extreme beating from just one of these. Their Battleship, Hayden is also fairly nasty.
I realize its too late to change anything, i could only hope for a small "rebalancing" patch maybe.... ?
Also the player ship that teleports is crap, and so is the shield one.
The Ramming ship seems potentially fun, but doesnt deliver the kind of damage i hoped for, which left me with the 2 remaining basic ships and the advanced ones :/
Could be missing something, but im usually good at these games

Anyways:
Cellblock Squadrons 2 would definetly get me excited... what happened to the other Sci-Fi game the team worked on?

Thx for the laughs guys- Pew Pew

Thanks for the kind compliments, Zombiemaster81 Smile It's great to hear someone's getting some enjoyment from the game via the Impulse sales.

Marketing is a costly one these days... the market is heavily saturated, so unless you have the big dollars on hand, getting the word out is tough going. Thanks for the encouragement though!

Are you doing this pummeling in close, or from a distance?

Very unlikely after all these years Smile Cellblock generally works this way- the harder you fight (close in hits, and lots of them, etc) you can really turn the tide of even the largest battle. We have finished the game, so it is possible, I promise!

Have a read of the tactics in the manual- those help. (if you're having trouble getting in close). The general idea is to stay Top Pilot as much as you can, as those ships will allow you to deliver a lot more damage.

There's another sci-fi game we've worked on? Shocked Do tell! Wink

Im pummeling ships from just about point blank range-and i do read manuals- anyways, i guess the game is still beatable so no biggie.
I unlocked the 3rd "top pilot" ship and it seems to deliver the goods - but i had to get pretty far into the game before i got my mitts on it.

I read somewhere that you were working on a new sci-fi game, but apparently not- typical internet info i guess.

As for advertizing, you shouldvŽe seen Cliffski from "Gratouitous Space Battles" getting lots of press-coverage by publishing a video "interview/monologue/sillyness" of himself, generally sending pictures out to independent gaming sites on the net, and even discussing the game with fans all over (on a lot of different forums). And it seems to have sold well!
I think if you tell people about your game in a non-salesman type of way, with actual passion for the project, and tell them abit about how you work and so on, youŽll get good PR with us older gamers that see through the "WeŽre incredibly excellent and everything about our game is groundbreaking" style piss you get from the big studios.

Merry Xmas dudes - and keep working on games plzzzzzzz

Thanks for the Christmas wishes! Smile

Good info on how Cliffski has handled GSB... he's certainly doing well off it. He does have the advantage of his previous games (which were well rated) but heading around forums and introducing games, in a non-corporate way, certainly is the way to do it.
